Carla and Ted had quite an amazing incident - Carla is a professional photographer in the States and had been attending a Wedding Fayre in Houston as an exhibitor. She was chatting to a bride who told her she was getting married in Scotland and she had booked her wedding through a Scottish Wedding Planner called LITU - how strange said Carla, that's exactly what we are doing, and we are booked through LITU also! It must be such a great feeling when planning a wedding at a distance, to bump into someone who is dealing with the same company, a kind of reassurance when dealing over the internet.
The numbers for Ted and Carla's wedding grew and grew and they ended up with 70 guests travelling from the States to witness this fantastic day in this dream castle for them. They were very specific about the venue, it had to be rustic, rural Scottish Castle, they didn't want anything that had been refurbished - a ruin would suit them perfectly, with great photo opportunities obviously, Carla wanted to get those all important shots and moreso, different shots to what she would normally see back home. She had two professional photographers travelling with her - they were in for some serious photography!
The wedding guests were all collected at their hotel and taken to the Castle - the bride arrived by Rolls Royce. The weather was fine but windy - however it really added to the ambiance - a ruined rugged castle sitting on the side of the water with dramatic photography, it was quite stunning. The ceremony room looked lovely with lots of candles in every nook and cranny - there was a warm atmosphere from friends surrounding this couple.
After the ceremony guests roamed the castle while photographs were taken before finally being asked to walk to an area around the side of the castle. Along with Carla and Ted we had set up a surprise for their guests. They wanted to thank all their guests for travelling this distance to celebrate their wedding and in return this was their little part of Scotland to give back to them - on cue, a full beating retreat - 18 pipers and drummers marched towards the guests and delighted them with their playing. It really was a fantastic sight, the local people from the village had gathered to see the Bride and Groom and on hearing the pipes, more came - nobody can resist the sound of a Pipe band it makes the hairs of a Scotsman stand on the back of his neck and brings goose bumps to his skin! What a memory for each and every guest to take home with them - let's hope it brings them back again.
Bride and Groom's Kind comment:-
"Thank you so much for all the work you did
for us. The wedding surpassed all of our expectations - we had
a fabulous time and wish we could do it all over again - I think
I see a vow re-newal in our future. It truly was a dream come true
for both Ted and I and we will definitely be back to Scotland. "
