Mike and Katrina
Mike and Katrina knew
all along they wanted to be married in Scotland - part of Katrina's
family were originally from Scotland and Mike's from England. They
looked at several options and finally settled on the venue of their
dreams - Glamis Castle. What finer Castle, where our own Queen Mother
was born, could be chosen to host a special celebration. Upon entering
the grounds you see this fantastic historical Castle which looks
just like the castle you would draw as a child where your imaginary
fairy princess lives. Surrounded by wonderful policy parks with roaming
Highland cattle, it truly sets the scene for a wonderful wedding
day.
Having found the venue they then decided
they needed the help of a Scottish
Wedding consultant - both are
professionals within the city of London and knew they would not have
the time to run up and down to Scotland in order to put the other
details together. They specifically chose a winter wedding, and had
a lovely crisp day with sunshine, also at that time of the year the
castle is closed to the public so Glamis Castle was their own for
the day.
Their ceremony took place at a beautiful little country church not far from Glamis
Castle - where friends and family from both sides of the border gathered to witness
their marriage. Katrina arrived in a Rolls Royce Phantom ? built in 1925 for
a Berlin client, the Bride looked a million dollars - she carried bright red
Christmas Roses in a teardrop bouquet, the Scottish side of the bridal party
wearing thistle buttonholes, the English Red Roses, it was a day filled with
good hearted banter from both sides of the families. The Church was adorned with
flowers and candles and the choir heralded the brides arrival.
The Bride and Groom travelled onto Glamis Castle for their Champagne reception,
where they were entertained by a Clarsach in the magnificent 17th century drawing
room, with its huge fireplace and welcoming fire burning while the bridal party
had photographs taken - an optional tour of the Castle was offered to guests,
all of whom would not have missed the chance! The wedding breakfast was served
in the panelled splendour of the Victorian Dining room, attentive staff serving
guests with Scottish Fayre and fine wines.
Mike and Katrina wanted to surprise their guests with a lasting memory of Scotland
and in spectacular fashion the evening was completed with a Beating Retreat -
a full pipe band with 18 pipes and drums entertained the guests in true Scottish
fashion - what better way to end a Scottish wedding - the memories and the experience
will linger with each and every guest for years after they left Glamis Castle,
Scotland.

"We found Kimmie and George by accident (searching via the web) and took a chance by asking them to help us. It was without doubt the best wedding related decision we made. I would recommend them unreservedly. They live in the Fife area and are incredibly well connected with a very wide range of people giving you choice rather than a pre-set package of suppliers (unless that is what you want).
I also do declare personal bias as since the
wedding they have become personal friends and we've been to stay
with them when we are in the area, which unfortunately isn't nearly
often enough. I couldn't drive through Fife without trying to stop
by to see them (or their dog actually) so we are probably the cheerleaders
of the K&G fan club"
